Research: How to make a short film

Image
I will be going over my takeaways from the video "How to make a short film" To begin I saw that it is important to write scripts that could be manageable and easy to direct, whereas if it was costly and expensive it would be hard to deliver. I learned that it is good to plan setups and payoffs in action and emotional parts of the story, this helps the audience enjoy their viewing experience. Another takeaway is that it is important to establish a tone in the movie, it is important as it maintains audience engagement, Casting effectively as well, the right actors will be able to deliver impactful performances and bring the story to life. One of the most important take away I got was being able to manage the pace of the film when editing, making sure the story flows well and it is able to tell the story in a good way making a very good final product, as well as maintaining an extra perspective in post production editing having other people look at the film at different perspect...

Comparing Le Jetee, the short, and 12 Monkeys, the full-length movie

Image
Part 1: My takeaway from this video is that instead of it being a complete remake it is more of an imagining, and emphasized the structure of the film and how it presents a more detailed narrative. I have seen that both films explore themes of memory and a connection to identity and time. The different between both films however is La Jetee uses more of a minimalist and poetic approach whereas 12 monkeys uses a various different amount of genres which give a mystery driven narrative Part 2: My Takeaway from the article is that "La Jetee" uses monochromatic images with voice over narration to be able to create a unique experience and they end up giving a contemplative tone. The Themes of this film revolve of memory and time and are about the protagonists powerful memory of witnessing his own death. The film shows the diversity and versatility of cinema and has been able to influence later films My Takeaway from "12 Monkeys" was that it was inspired by "La Jete...

Throughout the film the main character "9" is able to develop courage in himself which helps him eventually take down the cat beast that kills his friend as shown in a flashback. The use of no dialogue adds to the mysterious vibe of the film making it seem unsure of whats going on  Long Film: In This film 9 is created by a scientist as a stitch punk, he is the final stitch punk out of the 9 that was created, after he was created he managed to meet 2 who is a scientist who gave him a voice box. Shortly after, 2 gets captured by the cat beast and 9 is rescued by 5 and he joins the other stitch punks which are led by 1, when 9 and 5 try to go back and save 2 which was against 1's orders they end up getting 2 killed and have their sanctuary get destroyed, eventually the machine...

Pitch Blog

Image
Pitch A: A Man gets a knock on his door from a stranger that needs help from the outside; what happens to him next is something he would never expect Pitch B: A group of friends go to new york to meet up with an annoynomous buyer for painting, however the buyer has a suprise for them Discuss Pitch A: I would be interested in this pitch as it is very easy to record and film, as we have a location set for this pitch and the props and costumes necessary to do so, it would also not be as time consuming as filming would probably span to as long as 1 week to 2 weeks which is not a huge time span compared to my other pitch. I am also interested as the story is very intriguing to me and starts and ends in a way I prefer Discuss Pitch B: I would be interested to explore this pitch however the location being new york would make it hard to film as we dont have many metropolitan spots that can act as somewhere in new york. As well as finding a room/apartment that can act like it is in new yor...
